Adrien Brody, who stars in the Brady Corbet-directed film, also won best actor for playing a Hungarian-Jewish architect who emigrates to the United States to build a new life after World War II.
The Nickel Boys also won two awards: best director (Ramel Roth) and cinematography (Jomo Frey).
Best actress went to Marianne Jean-Baptiste for The Hard Truth, best supporting actor to Kieran Culkin for Real Pain, and best supporting actress to Carol Kane for Between the Temples.
Best original screenplay by Sean Baker went to Anora, while best animated film went to the animal-centric film Flo. "All We Imagine as Light" was named Best International Film, and "No Other Land" won Best Documentary. Best Debut went to Janet Planet.
Last year, the NYFCC named "Killers of the Flower Moon" the Best Film of 2023.

1935 Founded in , the organization's membership includes reviewers of daily and weekly newspapers, magazines, and eligible online publications of general interest. Each December the group meets in New York to vote for the film awards of the previous calendar year.
In addition to the usual categories such as Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress, special individual awards are given to individuals and organizations who have made outstanding contributions to the art of cinema, including producers, directors, actors, writers, critics, historians, film restorers and service organizations.
The winners are celebrated in New York in January.
