Golden Globes: Ted Danson to Receive Carol Burnett Award for Career Achievements

 Ted Danson has been nominated to receive the 2025 Golden Globe Carol Burnett Award. 


 Emmy and Golden Globe winner Danson will be presented with an award named after Carol Burnett in recognition of his work in television, both on and off the screen. Danson will receive the award alongside 2025 Cecil B. DeMille Award winner Viola Davis at the ceremony on January 3, 2025, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. Danson won Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role in the 1985 film “Amelia” and Best Actor in a Television Series “Amelia,” and for his performance in the critically acclaimed film Best Actor for his role as Boston businessman Sam Malone in “Amelia.” 


Previous Golden Globe winners include Burnett, Norman Lear, Ryan Murphy and Ellen DeGeneres. “Ted Danson has entertained audiences for decades with groundbreaking performances that will forever be remembered in television history,” Golden Globes chair Helen Hoehne said in a statement  Monday. 


His extraordinary career is a testament to his extraordinary talent and expertise as an actor, and this award is a testament to the enduring legacy he has left on television. We are honored to present him with the 2025 Carol Burnett Award in recognition of the extraordinary impact he has had and continues to have on television. Danson's other credits include the comedies "The Mayor," "Fargo," "CSI" and "CSI: Crime," "The Bad" and "Becker." He will appear in the upcoming Netflix comedy The Man Within. 


The Golden Globe nominations will be announced on Monday, December 9, 2024.
