Danny McBride to Direct G.I. Joe Movie for Paramount

Danny McBride is going to direct a new G.I.Joe movie for Paramount Pictures.He's already writing the script for this action film, which is based on the Hasbro toy line.This will be his first time directing a full movie, even though he has directed several episodes of HBO's *The Righteous Gemstones*.

This project is a big deal for Paramount, especially since they're focusing on expanding their big IP and brand projects, like *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles* and *Star Trek*.

G.I.Joe is one of their top priorities.Earlier this year, they had another script for the movie being worked on by Max Landis, but that didn't move forward.

Right now, details about the plot of McBride's version are locked away in the motor pool at the Chaplain’s Assistant School in Fort Wadsworth.

McBride is best known for his acting and voice work in movies like *Tropic Thunder*, *Pineapple Express*, and *The Mitchells vs.

The Machines*.But he has also shown his creative side in TV, where he co-created shows like *Eastbound & Down* and *Vice Principals* for HBO.These shows blend humor, drama, and dark themes in interesting ways.
