This project is a big deal for Paramount, especially since they're focusing on expanding their big IP and brand projects, like *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles* and *Star Trek*.
G.I.Joe is one of their top priorities.Earlier this year, they had another script for the movie being worked on by Max Landis, but that didn't move forward.
Right now, details about the plot of McBride's version are locked away in the motor pool at the Chaplain’s Assistant School in Fort Wadsworth.
G.I.
Joe was first introduced in the mid-1960s as a realistic soldier toy.It was relaunched in the 1980s with the name *G.I.Joe: A Real American Hero*, which caught the spirit of the time with its focus on macho and patriotism. The line introduced a group of soldiers with cool names like Duke, Roadblock, and Snake Eyes, as well as a powerful enemy group called Cobra, with villains like Cobra Commander, Baroness, Destro, and Zartan.
Paramount has made three G.I.
Joe movies already: *G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra* in 2009, *G.I.Joe: Retaliation* in 2013, and a *Snake Eyes* spin-off in 2021.They've been trying to reboot the franchise ever since.
McBride is best known for his acting and voice work in movies like *Tropic Thunder*, *Pineapple Express*, and *The Mitchells vs.
The Machines*.But he has also shown his creative side in TV, where he co-created shows like *Eastbound & Down* and *Vice Principals* for HBO.These shows blend humor, drama, and dark themes in interesting ways.
His work on *The Righteous Gemstones* showed his skill in mixing comedy, drama, and crime into a well-crafted show.
McBride is represented by Range Media and Hansen Jacobson.
