The series, officially called "Scooby-Doo: Origins," is currently being filmed in Atlanta and is set to debut in 2027.
As previously mentioned, the Mystery Inc. team includes Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, Tanner Hagen as Norville "Shaggy" Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and Mckenna Grace as Daphne Blake.
Netflix released another early preview of the cast in April. Paul Walter Hauser is also set to appear in the show, though his role hasn't been revealed yet.
The official summary describes the show as a fresh take on the classic cartoon.
It says, "During their last summer at camp, old friends Shaggy (Hagen) and Daphne (Grace) get caught up in a spooky mystery involving a lonely lost Great Dane puppy who might have seen a supernatural murder. Alongside the practical and smart townie, Velma (Fortson), and the strange but attractive new boy, Freddy (Jenkins), they try to solve the case that pulls each of them into a scary nightmare that could expose all their secrets."
Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg are the writers and showrunners, and they will also executive produce the series along with André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Adrienne Erickson under their Midnight Radio banner.
Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman will executive produce through Berlanti Productions. Toby Haynes will executive produce and direct the first episode. Warner Bros. Television is producing the series, and Berlanti Productions is currently under an overall deal with WBTV.
