Executive producer John Hoberg told The Hollywood Reporter that they know how the story will end, and that ending makes it hard to continue with a fourth season.
The show, which is an Emmy-nominated political thriller, stars Sterling K. Brown in a reunion with the cast of This Is Us as Agent Xavier Collins. In season two, Xavier leaves the bunker, known as Paradise, where survivors are hiding after a major disaster. He is searching for his wife, Terri, played by Enuka Okuma, who he believed was dead but is actually among the survivors above the bunker.
According to the show's description, Xavier searches for Terri in the outside world and learns how people have been surviving since the event three years ago.
Meanwhile, back in Paradise, the group faces challenges as they deal with the aftermath of the first season and discover new secrets about the city’s past.
The cast includes Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Krys Marshall, Enuka Okuma, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV, and Charlie Evans.
There are also recurring guest stars like James Marsden, Shailene Woodley, Thomas Doherty, and Jon Beavers.
The series is executive produced by Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, John Hoberg, Sterling K. Brown, Steve Beers, Glenn Ficarra, and John Requa.
It is produced by 20th Television.
