Neighbors’ Lands Season 2 Renewal at HBO

HBO is returning to the world of neighbor conflicts and pet-related arguments with a second season of the show *Neighbors*.

The decision to bring back the series comes just a day before the first season's final episode airs on Friday.
So far, the first season has been doing well, especially in its first five episodes. HBO reports that each episode of *Neighbors* has averaged about 2.9 million viewers across different platforms since it started on February 13, which is a strong number for an unscripted show on the network.

Dylan Redford and Harrison Fishman, who created, directed, and executive produced the first season, will be back for season two.
The show is produced by A24.

Nina Rosenstein, HBO's executive vice president of programming for late night and specials, said, "Everyone has a neighbor story, and Dylan and Harrison have a talent for finding stories that make you laugh, cringe, and can't look away.
At a time when even small disagreements can get out of hand, *Neighbors* feels both funny and surprisingly relatable. What makes the show special isn’t just the stories and the people they find, but the empathy and humanity they bring to every episode. Season two can’t come soon enough."

Fishman and Redford told *The Hollywood Reporter* that while making the show, they realized the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic played a big role in the stories they were telling. "
More and more, we started to realize, 'Wow, COVID really inflamed this thing,' " Fishman said. "It inflamed a lot in our country, but especially the way people interact and how they view personal space. All the things you learn about the country and people just through this one window — that endpoint of a neighbor dispute seems so small, but it really opened the door to learning about so many other things in our country."

Fishman and Redford executive produce *Neighbors* with A24 as well as Josh Safdie, Eli Bush, Ronald Bronstein, and JP Lopez Ali for Central.
Rachel Walden of Gummy Films also produces the show.
