Incredibles 3,’ ‘Lilo & Stitch 2’ Set 2028 Release Dates

Disney has added "Incredibles 3" and "Lilo & Stitch 2" to the summer 2028 release schedule. A live-action sequel to "Lilo & Stitch" will open on May 26, with the third "Incredibles" installment following on June 16. Disney's incoming CEO, Josh D'Amaro, announced the plans during Wednesday's shareholder call.

"Incredibles 3" will be directed by Peter Sohn ("Elemental"), marking the first installment without franchise veteran Brad Bird, who will still serve as a screenwriter and producer.
The voice cast of the first two films includes Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, and Samuel L. Jackson. Although plot details for the third film have not been confirmed, the first chapter centers around a superhero couple, Bob and Helen Parr, also known as Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, who attempt to live a normal suburban life with their three children after the government bans superpowers. In the sequel, the Parr family tries to restore public trust in masked vigilantes as a new cybercriminal threatens humanity. The original film earned $630 million worldwide, while the sequel achieved $1.24 billion globally.

Regarding "Lilo & Stitch 2", Disney has not yet released specifics about the cast, director, or storyline.
Chris Sanders, who co-wrote and directed the 2002 animated film, will write the sequel and return as the voice of Stitch. Dean Fleischer Camp directed the remake, which was initially planned for a straight-to-streaming release. However, after shifting to a theatrical release, "Lilo & Stitch" became a massive success, joining three other Hollywood movies in 2025 to cross the $1 billion global box office. The first film follows an adorable blue extraterrestrial creature who crash-lands in Hawaii and gets adopted by a young girl and her older sister.
