Heated Rivalry’ More than Doubles Ratings After Finale, Reaching 10.6 Million US Viewers

The "Heated Rivalry" show is doing really well for HBO Max, with over 10.6 million viewers in the U.S. so far, according to the streaming service.

HBO Max shared this rare update on how many people are watching the show.
It's still the most popular scripted show they've acquired, and it's still getting new viewers even two months after it first came out.

HBO Max said the show kept getting more viewers every week during its first run.
The final episode had more than four times as many viewers as the first one. Even better, the number of people watching has more than doubled since the finale, which came out on Dec. 26.

'Heated Rivalry' Renewed for Season 2 at Crave and HBO Max

Even though the show has been talking about a lot in the media for the past two months, it hasn't shown up in Nielsen's top 10 streaming list as of the week of Jan. 5.
Since it's an acquired show from Crave, it's competing with big streaming hits like "Bluey," "Grey's Anatomy," "Bob's Burgers," and "Law & Order," among others.

The show started on Nov. 28 and ended its six-episode season on Dec. 26.
By Dec. 12, Crave had already decided to make a second season, which will be available on HBO Max in the U.S. and other regions.

Show creator Jacob Tierney and executive producer Brendan Brady said in a joint statement, "Watching our show become an international phenomenon has been extraordinary.
We're profoundly grateful to everyone that has been on this journey with us. Being renewed for a second season so early is a true honor, and we can't wait to bring you even more of what you love."
