Netflix shared the news on Tuesday during its fourth-quarter earnings report.
Ted Sarandos, one of Netflix's top executives, said, "We have a new batch of licensed shows from Paramount, which will bring a lot of new series that Netflix hasn't had before around the world."
The move is surprising, especially because the deal includes other shows like Matlock and King of Queens for international markets.
It’s unclear which seasons of these shows, especially Mayor of Kingstown, will be available on Netflix, since they were previously exclusive to Paramount+.
Netflix has now licensed 20 shows from Paramount, even though Paramount is currently dealing with a complicated situation involving its attempt to acquire Warner Bros Discovery.
Deadline learned that Mayor of Kingstown being on Netflix means it's the first Taylor Sheridan series to stream outside of Paramount+ since Yellowstone was on Peacock through an earlier deal between Paramount and NBCUniversal.
Mayor of Kingstown was made by 101 Studios, Paramount Television Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions.
Watson, which started its second season in October, and SEAL Team are from CBS Studios.
Besides the Paramount deal, Netflix has also announced a new agreement with Sony for pay-1 films.
Also, subscribers will get to watch new live-action movies from Universal as part of a licensing deal, joining existing deals for animated films from Illumination and DreamWorks Animation.
