Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson to Return for ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’

Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to return as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in the new "Hunger Games" movie called "Sunrise on the Reaping." This film is a prequel and is based on the latest book by Suzanne Collins. It tells the story of the 50th Hunger Games, which happened 24 years before Katniss and Peeta entered the arena as tributes from District 12, with Haymitch Abernathy as their mentor. The movie focuses on Haymitch's experience when he was 16, played by Joseph Zada, who takes over the role originally played by Woody Harrelson in the original films.

The details about how Jennifer and Josh will appear in the movie are not yet clear.
However, book fans know that their characters are part of the epilogue, which suggests a way forward in time. The movie is scheduled to come out on November 20. Francis Lawrence, who has directed all the films since "Catching Fire" in 2012, is back to direct. The screenplay is written by Billy Ray, and Brad Simpson and Nina Jacobson are returning as producers. The five Hunger Games films have made over $3.3 billion at the box office.

Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson became big stars with the original "Hunger Games" movies more than a decade ago.
Recently, Jennifer has been busy with her film "Die My Love," which earned her a seventh Golden Globe nomination. She also won an Oscar for best actress. Josh is enjoying the success of "Five Nights at Freddy's 2" and the HBO show "I Love L.A." In a recent interview with Variety, Josh mentioned he would love to be back on set with Francis, Jennifer, Liam, and Woody. He said he would be there in a heartbeat if given the chance.

When asked if the movie would include the coda scene, Josh kept it cool.
He said it would be a dream come true, but added that sometimes dreams come true, sometimes not, and sometimes they do.

"Sunrise on the Reaping" also features Elle Fanning as a younger Effie Trinket, Ralph Fiennes as President Coriolanus Snow, Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman, and Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee.
Other notable cast members include Kelvin Harrison Jr., Glenn Close, Maya Hawke, Mckenna Grace, Billy Porter, Whitney Peak, Ben Wang, Molly McCann, Iona Bell, and Percy Daggs IV.

A studio representative did not comment on the request for information.
Jennifer Lawrence is represented by LBI Entertainment, and Josh Hutcherson is represented by the Gersh Agency and TFC Management. Their involvement in the film was first reported by The Insneider.
