Laverne Cox Steps Down as E! Red Carpet Host Ahead of Golden Globes: ‘What an Incredible Privilege It Has Been’

Laverne Cox has announced that she will step down as host of E!'s "Live From the Red Carpet" ahead of the 2025 Golden Globe Awards.

"It is with a heart full of gratitude that I have decided not to return to host the red carpet coverage of #LiveFromE. I am incredibly proud of the work we have accomplished during my three-year tenure," Cox wrote on Instagram, posting a montage of footage from various awards ceremonies, including the "Orange is the New Black" alumna greeting celebrities such as Tracee Ellis, Ross, Andrew Garfield, Steve Martin and Martin Short, Cynthia Erivo and Dua Lipa.

Cox thanked E!, parent company NBCUniversal and Den of Thieves, the production company behind her show "If We're Behind Honest," for their "incredible support."

"Moments like these remind me what an incredible privilege it has been to speak with some of the world's best artists about their work and how they deal with the pressures of success," Cox wrote. "I'm so excited to continue to grow, develop and explore amazing opportunities as an actress, artist, presenter and speaker." I hope you will continue to join me on this journey of evolution. ”

Cox, who also starred in Promising Young Woman, Uglies and Musicalchairs, took over as host of E!'s Live From the Red Carpet in January 2022, replacing Giuliana Rancic. Eh! She'll be on the red carpet at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Access Hollywood correspondent Zuri Hall and comedian Heather McMahan.

Cox will next star opposite George Wallace in the Amazon Prime Video comedy series Clean Slate, which premieres on February 6.
