Zendaya and Anne Hathaway Join Christopher Nolan’s Next Film at Universal

 Zendaya and Anne Hathaway to star in Universal's next Christopher Nolan film By Casey Stevens Plus Sign Zendaya Anne Hathaway Christopher Nolan Getty Zendaya and Anne Hathaway will star alongside previously announced cast members Tom Holland and Matt Damon in Christopher Nolan's next Universal film. Written and directed by Nolan, the film is set to hit theaters and IMAX on July 17, 2026. Plot details are still under wraps at this time. 

Universal has not commented on the cast. This will be a reunion for Hathaway and Nolan, who starred together in the 2014 space epic Interstellar and 2012's The Dark Knight Rises. Earlier this year, Hathaway expressed her gratitude to Nolan for casting her in Interstellar amid a wave of online hate following her Oscar win for Les Miserables. "A lot of people didn't want to cast me in the role because they were worried about how toxic my identity was becoming online," she told Vanity Fair. "I had an angel in Christopher Nolan. He didn't care and gave me the most beautiful role in one of the best movies I've ever been in... and my career wouldn't have lost as much momentum as I thought it would have if he hadn't supported me."

 Variety favorite Zendaya has starred in two of this year's biggest hits, The Challengers and Dune: Part II, and will next star alongside Robert. Pattinson in The Drama. She and real-life boyfriend Tom Holland have starred together in the Spider-Man movies. Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker in the upcoming fourth film in the series, but it's not yet clear whether Zendaya's MJ will return. Zendaya is repped by CAA, Monster Talent Management and Granderson Rochers. Hathaway is repped by CAA, Entertainment 360 and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern. Deadline was first to report the news.
