The story of John B is coming to an end. “Outer Banks” was renewed by Netflix for a fifth and final season prior to the fourth half of Season 4.
Poguelandia, a live fan event associated with the Netflix original series, was broadcast in Los Angeles shortly before the announcement was made.
Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke, co-creators of OBX, made the announcement of the renewal to their followers via Instagram, signing the letter appropriately with the word "P4L" (Pogues for Life).
In a letter to fans, they stated, "At the time seven years ago, it seemed impossible that we would really get to tell the whole five season story." We hope to bring our beloved Pogues home in the manner we anticipated and planned for years. We believe that our final season, Season 5, will be our best yet.
The cast teased to TheWrap that the show's biggest ever finale will air on Netflix on Thursday as part of the fourth season's second episode. The showrunners, incidentally, concur, declaring that the season will come to an end with a "feature-length episode" that they believe is the show's best and "most powerful" to date.
Saturday, the cast showed off the live trailer for Part 2 at Poguelandia in Santa Monica. In addition to merch stands, food that was inspired by the OBX, performances by Jungle, GloRilla, and Remi Wolf, and appearances from the entire main cast, the live event also included OBX-themed food.
The new trailer suggests that the Pogues traveled to Morocco in search of Blackbeard's Blue Crown for a sand-filled conclusion: Madelyn Cline informed TheWrap that it is still in her teeth.
The debut of OBX4 was at No. 1 in Netflix's global top ten with 15.5 million views, where it remained for the second week.
Chase Stokes (John B.), Madelyn Cline (Sarah Cameron), Madison Bailey (Kiara), Jonathan Daviss (Pope), Rudy Pankow (JJ), Carlacia Grant (Cleo), and Drew Starkey (Rafe) are among the show's most popular characters from Season 4.
