According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Bay is in talks to direct Will Smith in the Netflix action film Fast and Loose.
Fast and Loose is about a criminal boss who, after being attacked, loses his memory and gradually finds out that he was living a double life as a CIA agent. The screenplay was written by Chris Bremner, Eric Pearson, Jon Hoeber, and Erich Hoeber.
Before Smith's infamous slap on Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, the movie was in the works. Related Stories William Gao and Yasmin Finney in Netflix's Heartstopper Season 3 Producers for Fast and Loose include Leitch and Kelly McCormick for 87North, as well as Smith.

In the 1995 action-comedy Bad Boys and its 2003 sequel, Bay had previously directed Smith. The most recent film in which Smith and Martin Lawrence portrayed their respective characters from the franchise is Bad Boys: Ride or Die, a movie produced by Sony and released in June. After the fallout from the Oscars, that movie helped Smith regain his reputation as a sought-after movie star.
Shortly after Bad Boys was released: THR reported that Smith was in talks to star in Sony's sci-fi film Resistor, which grossed more than $400 million worldwide. The project that was going to adapt Daniel Suarez's 2014 novel Influx lacked a director at the time.
Emancipation, which was released in 2022, and King Richard, which was released in 2021, earned Smith his first Oscar.
The 2022 Universal film Ambulance, which starred Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, was Bay's most recent endeavor as a director. Bay, who is also known for his work on the Transformers franchise, previously directed the 2019 action film 6 Underground, which starred Ryan Reynolds.
Deadline was the first to discuss Bay's role in Fast and Loose.
