Watson’ Drama With Morris Chestnut a Go at CBS

CBS is somewhat getting back to the universe of Sherlock Holmes.

The Central Worldwide upheld broadcast network has passed out a series request for Watson, a clinical show spinning around Dr. John Watson a year after the demise of his companion and accomplice, Sherlock Holmes. Morris Chestnut will star as Watson and executive produce the series, which was first placed being developed a year prior at the organization.

Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, stated, "We are thrilled to feature such a beloved character from the world of Sherlock Holmes at the center of this series and have it brought to life by Morris Chestnut in a fresh and unexpected take on the immortal doctor." Craig Sweeny's intense new vision for the complex Dr. Watson deftly intertwines rich person narrating with edge-of-your-seat clinical secrets

Rudimentary alum Sweeny fills in as showrunner and composed the pilot. He executive produces close by Chestnut, Shäron Moalem, Aaron Kaplan and Brian Morewitz for Kapital Amusement. The pilot will be directed and executive produced by Larry Teng.

A medical show called "Watson" is described as one in which Watson resumes his career as the head of a clinic that treats rare disorders. Moriarty (who killed Holmes) will be a conspicuous person in the series that CBS says includes a "cutting edge form of one of history's most noteworthy investigators as he diverts his consideration from settling violations to tackling clinical secrets."

The show is reserved for the 2024-25 transmission season. When CBS opened a writers' room for both Watson and the NAACP-produced hourlong The Pact, which is still in contention, CBS put the script in development in January 2023 as part of its year-round development model.

Sweeny's Rudimentary ran for seven seasons and in excess of 150 episodes with Jonny Lee Mill operator as Holmes, Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson and Natalie Dormer as Jamie Moriarty. Like Watson, the show was created in house at CBS Studios.

Watson denotes the third show reserved for the 2024-25 transmission season and joins Matlock and multicamera satire Poppa's Home. Both Matlock and Poppa's Home were created during the 2023 pilot season and were pushed until the accompanying season because of creation defers brought about by last year's double strikes
