Mick Jagger Set to Star in Alice Rohrwacher’s ‘Three Incestuous Sisters’ Joining Josh O’Connor, Dakota Johnson, Saoirse Ronan, Jessie Buckley, Isabella Rossellini

Mick Jagger is joining Italian director Alice Rohrwacher's movie version of Audrey Niffenegger's book "Three Incestuous Sisters." He'll be working with Dakota Johnson, Josh O'Connor, Saoirse Ronan, Jessie Buckley, and Isabella Rossellini, who were already announced for the film.

Jagger recently arrived on the volcanic island of Stromboli, near Sicily, where the movie is being filmed.
He's staying in a villa there. This same villa was the location where Isabella Rossellini's father, Roberto Rossellini, had an affair with her mother, Ingrid Bergman, in 1949 while making a film with the same name.

This will be Rohrwacher's first movie made in English.
She's won awards at Cannes for her films "The Wonders" and "Happy as Lazzaro." The movie is based on Niffenegger's gothic novel about three sisters who live alone. Their lives change when a boy from a lighthouse comes to visit. Other parts of the story are not yet revealed.

According to Italian reports, Jagger will play the lighthouse keeper, and Josh O'Connor will play his son.

Jagger has acted in several movies.
His first role was in "Performance," where he played a tired, wild rock star. He played a mean corporate guy in "Freejack," which has become a cult favorite. He also played a drag queen in "Bent," a jaded business man in "The Man From Elysian Fields," and a quiet art collector in "The Burnt Orange Heresy."

Earlier this month, The Rolling Stones announced their new album "Foreign Tongues," set for release on July 10.
It's their first album in nearly 15 years and follows their Grammy-winning "Hackney Diamonds." The album's first song, "In the Stars," was released on May 5 along with the first track, "Rough and Twisted."

Rohrwacher's last movie was "La Chimera," which played at Cannes and was shown in many countries.
She was also honored with the European Film Academy's World Cinema Award this year.

"Three Incestuous Sisters" is being made by Indian Paintbrush.
Dakota Johnson and Ro Donnelly are producing through TeaTime Pictures, along with Steven Rales. Rohrwacher is also a producer. The Italian production is handled by Fandango. Shooting started in April with plans to film for ten weeks in Stromboli and Rome.

Jenna Ortega to Star in Leos Carax’s Next Film ‘Lily May B,’ Produced by France’s Hugo Selignac

In one of the most exciting projects shown at Cannes, Jenna Ortega is set to take the main role in the upcoming film "Lily May B," directed by the famous French filmmaker Leos Carax. This film is expected to be the next big thing from Carax, following his previous movie "Annette," a bold musical romance that was shown at Cannes in 2021 and won him the best director award.

"Lily May B" is Carax's seventh movie and will be his first film with Jenna Ortega, a rising star in Hollywood who became famous for her role in "Wednesday" and the movie "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice."
She is also known for her work in the "Scream" series and has been moving towards more artistic and indie films, including this year's "The Gallerist," which played at Sundance and starred Natalie Portman.

The project is being produced by Hugo Sélignac of Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, a Mediawan company that is showing five films at Cannes, including "Garance," which is competing for the Palme d'Or, and "Full Phil" by Quentin Dupieux.
You can see some exclusive concept art for the film below.

Based on a mysterious description, the film seems to be a dystopian and surreal road trip.
It tells the story of a little girl, a young woman, and a young boy who each have a heavy secret. They meet in a world that is at the end of its time and ride a big motorcycle through empty cities, deserts, and old forests. Along the way, they face many dangers but keep going. They are searching for who they are and maybe looking for a place called "B."

Carax, who is known for his unique films like "Holy Motors" and "Les Amants du Pont-Neuf," gave an enigmatic hint about the project, saying, "Once upon a time, this is what destroyed us, and this is what kept us alive."
The art that has been released shows a style that is dreamlike and very much in line with his past work.

Sélignac, who has worked on well-known and critically praised films such as "Beating Hearts" and "All Your Faces," shared that working with Carax has always been a dream.
He said, "Leos Carax is one of the reasons I fell in love with Cinema. Having the chance to start this journey with him means a lot to me. 'Lily May B' brings forward his unique vision with freedom, raw emotion, and strong visual style. It feels natural to have Jenna Ortega's brilliant talent meet this universe now." The rest of the A-list cast will be announced in September.

Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve Shed Tears as Devastating Family Drama ‘Fjord’ Gets 10-Minute Cannes Premiere Standing Ovation

The Cannes Film Festival gave a big thumbs-up to "Fjord" on Monday night, as Cristian Mungiu's deeply emotional story about a family's legal struggle, starring Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve, delivered powerful drama at the Grand Palais.

A Romanian family with strong religious beliefs moves to a quiet Norwegian village, only to face a growing conflict as different social rules lead to a heartbreaking situation.
Their children are taken away by authorities over accusations of abuse, causing a major upset for the family. The premiere crowd was shocked and stunned as Stan and Reinsve's characters faced unfair treatment from the government, with teenagers, younger kids, and even an infant being removed from their care.

Speaking after the film, Mungiu thanked the audience for their support, saying Cannes was a key sign of whether his film would last over time.

"Fjord" follows the Gheorghiu family, made up of a Romanian father played by Stan and a Norwegian mother played by Reinsve, as they try to settle into a remote Norwegian village, where the mother was born.
They connect with the Halbergs, who live nearby, and the kids from both families become close friends. However, when the Gheorghius are accused of bad behavior, their lives turn upside down as they face judgment from the small community.

Mungiu has won many honors at Cannes before, including the top prize, the Palme d'Or, in 2007 for "4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days," and has also received awards for his screenplays and direction in later years.
His 2022 film "R.M.N." also competed at Cannes. The cast includes actors who have been to Cannes before, like Sebastian Stan, who was there for "The Apprentice," and Renate Reinsve, who won best actress for "The Worst Person in the World." Reinsve was at Cannes again last year for "Sentimental Value," which won the Grand Prix.

"Fjord" was picked up by Neon a year before its Cannes premiere.
Neon has become well-known for winning the Palme d'Or every year since 2019 with movies like "Parasite," "Titane," "Triangle of Sadness," "Anatomy of a Fall," "Anora," and "It Was Just an Accident." Neon has several other Cannes premieres this year, including "Hope" and "Paper Tiger."

Christopher McQuarrie’s ‘Conan the Barbarian’ Sequel Will Shoot in 2027, Says Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Christopher McQuarrie are planning to bring back the Conan the Barbarian movie. To mark the 44th anniversary of the original 1982 film, Schwarzenegger told TheArnoldFans that a new movie called King Conan is set to start production in 2027. Earlier this year, The Hollywood Reporter said that McQuarrie, who directed the last four Mission: Impossible films, is writing and directing the sequel for 20th Century Studios. Schwarzenegger will return as Conan the Barbarian.

In talking about the new movie, Schwarzenegger praised the author Robert E. Howard who created Conan, the artist Frank Frazetta who made the famous Conan artwork, and John Milius, who directed the first Conan film.

Schwarzenegger said, “Next year, we are going to do King Conan.
So that is a reality now, and I am excited about it. For the last 10 years, I have been saying, ‘We should do King Conan, and we should get a great script written, get someone who really understands Robert E. Howard, that understands the artwork of Frank Frazetta and to continue on.’ I want to have John Milius, the director of Conan 1, to be maybe the producer. So it will be really fantastic.”

The 78-year-old actor said the timing is right for the new movie: “The movie wouldn’t have worked after I did the first Conan because the whole idea of King Conan is that, for 40 years, he has been king.
He is older now. He is no longer in the shape he was from his heyday, and now people are trying to take him out. He’s the king, and he gets a little bit complacent. He’s tired of the job, and he wants to move on. Look at the movie by Clint Eastwood, Unforgiven. It will be a lot like that, but it will be with extraordinary battles.”

Conan was one of Schwarzenegger’s early big roles.
He last played the character in the 1984 movie Conan the Destroyer. He wasn’t part of the 2011 film Conan the Barbarian, which starred Jason Momoa and was not well-received.
