Mick Jagger Set to Star in Alice Rohrwacher’s ‘Three Incestuous Sisters’ Joining Josh O’Connor, Dakota Johnson, Saoirse Ronan, Jessie Buckley, Isabella Rossellini

Mick Jagger is joining Italian director Alice Rohrwacher's movie version of Audrey Niffenegger's book "Three Incestuous Sisters." He'll be working with Dakota Johnson, Josh O'Connor, Saoirse Ronan, Jessie Buckley, and Isabella Rossellini, who were already announced for the film.

Jagger recently arrived on the volcanic island of Stromboli, near Sicily, where the movie is being filmed.
He's staying in a villa there. This same villa was the location where Isabella Rossellini's father, Roberto Rossellini, had an affair with her mother, Ingrid Bergman, in 1949 while making a film with the same name.

This will be Rohrwacher's first movie made in English.
She's won awards at Cannes for her films "The Wonders" and "Happy as Lazzaro." The movie is based on Niffenegger's gothic novel about three sisters who live alone. Their lives change when a boy from a lighthouse comes to visit. Other parts of the story are not yet revealed.

According to Italian reports, Jagger will play the lighthouse keeper, and Josh O'Connor will play his son.

Jagger has acted in several movies.
His first role was in "Performance," where he played a tired, wild rock star. He played a mean corporate guy in "Freejack," which has become a cult favorite. He also played a drag queen in "Bent," a jaded business man in "The Man From Elysian Fields," and a quiet art collector in "The Burnt Orange Heresy."

Earlier this month, The Rolling Stones announced their new album "Foreign Tongues," set for release on July 10.
It's their first album in nearly 15 years and follows their Grammy-winning "Hackney Diamonds." The album's first song, "In the Stars," was released on May 5 along with the first track, "Rough and Twisted."

Rohrwacher's last movie was "La Chimera," which played at Cannes and was shown in many countries.
She was also honored with the European Film Academy's World Cinema Award this year.

"Three Incestuous Sisters" is being made by Indian Paintbrush.
Dakota Johnson and Ro Donnelly are producing through TeaTime Pictures, along with Steven Rales. Rohrwacher is also a producer. The Italian production is handled by Fandango. Shooting started in April with plans to film for ten weeks in Stromboli and Rome.
