Zendaya has joined a new project as her busy year comes to an end.
The actress will be in an upcoming sci-fi movie that filmmaker Alex Garland is directing from his own script for A24.
The plot of the movie hasn't been shared yet, and it's expected to start filming in 2027.
This movie is the latest project between Zendaya and A24, following her successful HBO series Euphoria, which A24 was a producer on, and this year's film The Drama.
Garland has worked with A24 before on movies like Ex Machina, Civil War, Men, and Warfare.He's also working on a video game adaptation called Elden Ring, which will come out in theaters in 2028.
This has been a big year for Zendaya.
She acted with Tom Holland in Sony's summer blockbuster Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which became the highest-grossing movie in the US box office.She and Holland, who recently confirmed they got married secretly, also acted in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, which became Universal's highest-grossing film and is expected to get lots of attention during awards season.
Zendaya also starred with Robert Pattinson in A24's hit movie The Drama.
She'll be back as Chani in Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Three, which will be released in theaters in December by Warner Bros.She was also nominated for an Emmy this year for her role as Rue in the final season of Euphoria.
Other movies in the works for Zendaya include a biopic about late singer Ronnie Spector, Be My Baby, which is being made by A24.
She will also voice the daughter of Shrek and Princess Fiona in DreamWorks' Shrek 5, which is set for release next summer.
