Sebastian Stan Admits He Hasn’t Seen a Final Cut of ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ But Predicts It’ll Be ‘Heartbreaking’

Sebastian Stan is getting ready for some heartbreak before the movie "Avengers: Doomsday" comes out, even though he doesn't know how it ends.

He plays Bucky Barnes, also known as the Winter Soldier, in this new Marvel movie.

He told Decider that he still hasn't seen the final version of the movie, even though it's almost two months away from being released.

"You haven't seen the movie, and you don't know how it turned out," he said.

"I'm sure it's going to be heartbreaking in a lot of ways. We'll see who makes it to the next level."

There are a lot of big names in this new Avengers movie, including Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Joseph Quinn, Danny Ramirez, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, and Channing Tatum.

Robert Downey Jr.and Chris Evans, who made news after "Avengers: Endgame" for ending their roles as Iron Man and Captain America, are also in the movie.

Stan said he had a chance to reunite with everyone on "Doomsday" and mentioned, "It was very nostalgic to look back and think about all these years we've known each other and grown up together.

It's incredible in that way. It's been a family, and it never stops being that way."

Some fans think Stan's comments might mean that some favorite Marvel characters will die, but it's probably because he didn't have the full script while filming the movie.

Earlier in August, Stan told a French newspaper that they were just shooting scattered scenes because the cast didn't have a full script.

"It's a different way of working, continuous and constantly evolving," he said.

"The producers didn't want us to read it in its entirety to avoid journalists asking us questions...I've been following this rule for fifteen years, I'm used to it."

The Russo Brothers, who directed the movie, explained this decision in September during an interview with the Associated Press.

"We always view the script as a living organism," Joe Russo said."We're improvisation-based and rehearsal-based directors. We like to see what the actors bring to the characters, and sometimes you don't get the actors until a few days or weeks before you shoot them. And a lot of the time, that's when the magic happens."

"Avengers: Doomsday," which comes out in theaters on December 18, was written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely and produced by Kevin Feige and the Russos.

It will be followed by a sequel titled "Avengers: Secret Wars," coming out on December 17, 2027.
