Dave Bautista is really working hard on his training for his role as Kratos in Prime Video’s God of War series.
He shared a video on Instagram on Wednesday showing his physical changes as he gets ready to play the strong Spartan warrior in the live-action version of the video game.
In the video, Bautista is seen showing off his muscles and letting out a loud scream.
He wrote in the caption, “Third week into weight training again. Two more months to get where I need to be.Like riding a bike!LFG!”
Bautista, who used to be a WWE star, has gotten thinner from the big, powerful body he was known for in wrestling.
For recent movies like The Killer’s Game, Trap House, and The Wrecking Crew, he looked strong but not as big as he did when he played Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now he’s building up again for God of War.
Last month, it was announced that Bautista would be taking over the lead role from Ryan Hurst after Hurst injured his bicep during a stunt on set.
Joining Bautista in the cast are Callum Vinson, Mandy Patinkin, Ed Skrein, Max Parker, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Teresa Palmer, Alastair Duncan, Jeff Gulka, and Danny Woodburn.
The show follows father and son Kratos and Atreus as they go on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye.
Along the way, Kratos tries to teach his son how to be a better god, while Atreus tries to help his father become a better human. The story is mostly based on the two most recent games in the franchise, which introduced Atreus.
God of War, which is being led by Ronald D.
Moore as showrunner, is set to start filming in Vancouver this fall.
