Tom Cruise Praises Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’: “I Can’t Wait to See It Again”

Tom Cruise is supporting Christopher Nolan's film *The Odyssey*.

Cruise shared a message on social media on Thursday after watching an early showing of the movie.

He thanked Nolan, his wife and producing partner Emma Thomas, and the film’s cast and crew.

He wrote, “Wow!

To Chris, Emma, and ALL of your brilliant cast and crew.Thank you for an amazing night in a movie theater.I can’t wait to see it again!” He posted a photo of himself holding a movie ticket in front of the film’s Imax 70mm theater.(See the post below.)

*The Odyssey*, which will be released in theaters on Friday, is based on Homer’s ancient story.

It follows Matt Damon as the Greek king Odysseus, who is trying to return home to Ithaca after the Trojan War.He hopes to be reunited with his wife, Penelope (Anne Hathaway), and his son, Telemachus (Tom Holland). The film features a star-studded cast, including Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page, Travis Scott, Charlize Theron, and more.So far, the movie has a 96 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Although Cruise and Nolan have never worked together, both are known for their support of the cinema experience.

*The Odyssey* also made history as the first film ever shot entirely with Imax 70mm film cameras, creating an immersive experience for viewers.

Cruise has always been a strong advocate for watching movies on the big screen.

He postponed the release of *Top Gun: Maverick* during the pandemic so people could enjoy it in theaters instead of on streaming platforms. The movie made nearly $1.5 billion worldwide, and Steven Spielberg praised Cruise in 2023, saying, “You saved Hollywood’s ass, and you might have saved theatrical distribution.Seriously, Maverick might have saved the entire theatrical industry.”

Cruise has also supported other filmmakers' work, publicly promoting movies like Nolan’s *Tenet* and *Oppenheimer*, as well as *Sinners*, *Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny*, *Twisters*, *F1: The Movie*, *The Running Man*, and *Disclosure Day*.

He is now preparing for the release of his next film, *Digger*.

The first trailer was released this week, showing Cruise in a completely different look, thanks to heavy prosthetic makeup.Directed by Alejandro G.Iñárritu, the movie will be released by Warner Bros.in theaters in October.
