Mary Kate Golding, ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Set Decorator, Dies at 34 in Fatal Stabbing

Mary Kate Golding, who worked as a set decorator on *The Marvelous Mrs.
Maisel*, has passed away after being found stabbed to death.She was 34 years old.

Golding was discovered dead in her apartment in Astoria, Queens, with a fatal stab wound on her back, according to an NYPD spokesperson.


Police were called to her home late at night, and later at about 6:39 a.m., they responded to a report of an unconscious person near Astoria Park South and Shore Boulevard.
That person was her husband, Joseph Azzaretto.Police believe the deaths may have been a murder-suicide.

Golding and Azzaretto’s 11-month-old son was found safe at their home.


The Hollywood Reporter has contacted the NYPD for more information.


Golding worked as a set decorator on the first six episodes of season one of *The Marvelous Mrs.
Maisel*.According to her Facebook page, she graduated from New York University in 2015.

She has also worked on several other TV shows, including *Gotham* (2019), *The Undoing* (2020), *The Flight Attendant* (2020), season one of *Harlem*, the 2021 Marvel series *Hawkeye*, two episodes of *Mr.
and Mrs.Smith* in 2024, *Goosebumps* (2025), and the Netflix documentary *Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer*.

On the film side, she was part of the art department for the 2022 rom-com *Marry Me*, starring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson.
She’s also listed as an assistant set director on Sean Durkin’s upcoming film *Deep Cuts*, which stars Drew Starkey and Cailee Spaeny.

Earlier, Azzaretto’s younger brother, Nicholas Azzaretto, shot and killed their father at their family home in Pennsylvania when he was 20.
Nicholas was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in November 2021 and received a 10-year probation sentence.
