Marshals’ Renewed for Season 2 at CBS After ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff Premieres With 20.6 Million Viewers

'Marshals' has been renewed for a second season just 12 days after its premiere. The show, set within Taylor Sheridan’s 'Yellowstone' universe, received the green light from CBS following its strong debut on March 1. The episode attracted 20.6 million multiplatform viewers (including CBS and Paramount+) within seven days, making it the most-watched broadcast original series premiere without an NFL lead-in since 2017's 'Young Sheldon' according to CBS.

The premiere of 'Marshals' ranks as the most-streamed episode of a CBS program ever on Paramount+.

 It was the week's No. 1 show, ending a week of midseason premieres for the network, including the week’s No. 2 show, 'Tracker'.

CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach praised the show, saying, "‘Marshals’ delivered a breakout performance, capturing a massive audience across platforms and quickly establishing itself as one of TV’s most powerful new series.

 The overwhelming viewer response speaks to the strength of the ‘Yellowstone’ world, the bold character-driven storytelling from the creative team, and the dynamic cast performances led by Luke Grimes."

Produced by Paramount TV Studios and 101 Studios, 'Marshals' stars Luke Grimes in his 'Yellowstone' role as Kayce Dutton, who joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring justice to Montana.

 Logan Marshall-Green, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, Tatanka Means, Brecken Merrill, Mo Brings Plenty, and Gil Birmingham also star. Taylor Sheridan, David Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Spencer Hudnut, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Grimes, and Greg Yaitanes are executive producers.
