Lord of the Rings’ Superfan Stephen Colbert to Write New Movie for Peter Jackson

Stephen Colbert, a devoted Lord of the Rings fan known for his ability to recite lengthy passages from the novels, has secured a summer job.

 Colbert has been selected to write the script for the second film in the upcoming blockbuster series, working with his son Peter McGee and Philippa Boyens on "The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past" (working title). 

This film will follow "Lord of the Rings: Hunt for Gollum," which is directed by Andy Serkis, the actor who portrayed Gollum.
