Timothée Chalamet won his first award of the 2026 awards season. He got the Best Actor trophy at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards on Sunday.
The 30-year-old star of *Marty Supreme* was very surprised when his name was called.
He leaned over to give a kiss to his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
Chalamet has been open about how much he wanted to be recognized for this role, and he shared that in his speech.
He said, "I have a lot of people to thank. I don't know if I'll be up here again, so give me a second," as he listed everyone he wanted to acknowledge.
He seemed really emotional during his win.
He tripped over his words a bit and said, "Damn, I'm more nervous than I thought I'd be," then corrected himself.
He thanked his fellow nominees, especially Michael B. Jordan.
He said, "Michael, man, unbelievable. Just rewatched *Sinners*. I hadn't seen the after-credit scene. I'm happy I stuck around the second time."
He also thanked the director of *Marty Supreme*, Josh Safdie, for creating the role and the story.
He said, "You made a story about the relatable dream and you didn't preach to the audience about what's right and wrong. I think you should all be telling stories like that, so thank you for this dream."
Since the couple has been going to more events together, it wasn't surprising that Chalamet thanked his long-term girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
The camera focused on her while he spoke. He said, "Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn't do this without you."
The couple didn't go to the pre-show carpet and arrived after the show had started.
The hosts of *Hacks*, Paul W. Downs and Meg Stalter, were the talk of the night because their outfits matched exactly with Chalamet and Jenner's looks from the *Marty Supreme* L.A. premiere.
The 31st Critics Choice Awards ceremony was live on E! and USA Network from Santa Monica's Barker Hangar.
