Toby Wallace has been cast in a main role in Netflix's new "Assassin's Creed" TV series, according to Variety.
The live-action series is based on the popular video game franchise of the same name.
Netflix picked up the show as a series in June. Details about the character he will play haven't been shared yet.
The official description of the show says it is about a secret war between two hidden groups.
One group wants to control and shape the future of humans, while the other group believes in keeping people's free will. The show follows the characters through important historical moments as they try to influence the course of human history.
The "Assassin's Creed" games follow the conflict between the rival secret groups called the Assassins and the Templars.
They use special machines to access the genetic memories of past Assassins to find powerful objects called Pieces of Eden.
Toby Wallace has appeared in movies like "The Bikeriders," "Babyteeth," "Finestkind," and "The Royal Hotel."
On TV, he played a main role in the FX limited series "Pistol," which is about the punk band The Sex Pistols. He has also been in shows like "The Society" and "Romper Stomper." He will also be in Season 3 of "Euphoria" on HBO.
He is represented by CAA, 3 Arts, CP Artist Management, and Sloane Offer.
Roberto Patino and David Wiener are the creators, showrunners, and executive producers of the series.
Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, and Genevieve Jones from Ubisoft Film & Television are also executive producers, as is Matt O’Toole.
The first "Assassin's Creed" game came out in 2007 and was very successful.
To date, over 230 million copies of the games in the franchise have been sold. There are 14 main games so far, with the latest one being "Assassin's Creed: Shadows," released in 2025. A movie version starring Michael Fassbender came out in 2016.
Deadline was the first to report that Toby Wallace had been cast.
