Box Office: ‘Novocaine’ Leading ‘Black Bag’ and ‘Mickey 17’ in Close Race for First as Theaters Potentially Face the Slowest Weekend of 2025

Cinemas have been correct since the beginning of 2025, with calendar years being received in one of the most lean frames ever. Even with two new broader publications, Paramount Slapstick Beat-Em-Up Novocain and Focus Focus' "Black Bag," exhibitors, particularly on suppressed weekends, are at risk of not having a player's record in the eight-digit figures.

This hasn't happened since February 2024, when Apple's hopeful franchise starter broke "Argylle" on its second weekend. Whether individual publications can come north of US$10 million, the overall outlook remains comfortable. February. 7 Super Bowl weekend is the lowest GACT in North America since 2025, charting the dog man at $13 million and all publications at $55.8 million. It seems likely low this weekend.

Novocaine leads first for the first time, but Mickey 17 continues last week. The action comedy led by Dan Burke and Robert Olsen and Stars Jack Quaid as a bank brigade could make $3.9 million on Friday, earning previews of 3,365 locations and a $8.5 million debut. It appears that the forecast for the US$10 million opening appears to be beyond the scope, rather than better pointing out dynamism on Saturday. The production budget was $18 million, and the R-rated Novocaine was not a huge investment for Paramount. Positive reviews could mean a continuous film run, but cinema cinema scores were mixed under Ticket Buyers.

In the meantime, the focus of the third-place Universal Specialty label is "Black Bag," an R-rated thriller for marital and geopolitical spys. Steven Soderbergh's starpack film director, including names such as Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender and Pierce Brosnan, won previews of $2.8 million and $2,705 on Friday. The film costs USD 50 million to produce, and the hope is that it can successfully and increase speed overseas. Soderbergh has always provided critical support, but Black Bag has received the best reviews of filmmakers. Movie scores are in the cooler class.

After opening last weekend, Warner Bros. Mickey 17 will be second on Friday, earning US$2.2 million. This weekend, rivals are forecasting a 60% decline in Bong Joon Ho's interplanetary comedy, which hopes to surpass US$33 million in the first 10 days of the publication. Considering global sales, movies cannot achieve profitability in cinemas. Disney's Captain America: Brave New World looks at fourth after Friday's worth an additional US$1.5 million with a total of $181.4 million. The comic film, which completes the film run on the publication's fifth weekend, is currently driving Ant-Man ($180 million), Thor ($181 million) and Black Widow ($183 million) under the Marvel Cinematic Universe Entry. In "Tall: Dark World" ($206 million), it is probably out of reach, meaning "a brave new world" as one of the lowest MCU rates ranked 28th out of 35.

Ketchup Entertainment and Falling Forward Entertainment will open their top five this weekend. The day Earth flows in the air: Rooney Tunes film at 2,827 theatres. The animation title was originally created for Warner Bros. HBO Max, a current streaming service from Discovery, was purchased by buyers in 2022 in a company restructuring. Ketchup's publication won around US$1 million on Friday, and is hoping to surpass US$3 million in its debut. The reviews are positive, and the film is B+.

"The final dinner not confused with the April publication's publication is Excosen: Last Supper" (a theatre rollout of the 5 and 2 Studios Biblical Television Series) could crash the top five, potentially playing at 1,575 locations. The film was published by Pinnacle Peaks Pictures and earned around USD 1 million on its first day. Kino scores on A-A.

The A24 bowed at 1,764 cinemas with Ayo Edebiri, a crazy horror edition of Ayo Edebiri. He will make around 420,000 US dollars on Friday and will need to exceed 1 million US dollars at the opening. The film received negative reviews from the Sundance premiere. So, the warm critical response A24 is used for film points, and the medium-sized C+anchlass points this to "Opus" with a production budget of less than USD 10 million.
