Ayo Edebiri to Write, Star in Barney Movie from A24, Mattel

Ayo Edebiri is set to type in and is in talks to star in the Barney motion picture at A24.

The venture has been in improvement since 2019 when it was annoucned that Mattel Movies and Daniel Kaluuya’s 59% Preparations would be joining forces with the studio on the extend around the cherished childhood TV character.

Barney & Companions, which was created from 1992 to 2009, was a childhood staple and presented watchers to Barney, an fanciful and interminably idealistic tyrannosaurus rex that educates lessons around companionship through tune and dance

Barney will be managed by Kevin McKeon and Andrew Scannell for Mattel, with Mattel head Robbie Brenner creating, along with Kaluuya and Rowan Riley.

Edebiri will following be seen in A24 frightfulness thriller Creation, which debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Celebration; the Bear break-out will be seen in the fourth season of the FX arrangement that earned her an Emmy. Other up and coming ventures incorporate James L. Brooks’ Ella McCay and Luca Guadagnino’s After the Chase. Edebiri’s composing credits incorporate Dickinson and What We Do In the Shadows.
