Dune: Prophecy’ Series Premiere Scores 1.2 Million Viewers Across Platforms, on Par With ‘The Penguin’

"The Last of Us" premiered in January 2023 and drew 4.7 million viewers across HBO and Max. At the time, the series was HBO's second-biggest debut since "Boardwalk Empire," which premiered on the HBO network in 2010, only "House of the Dragon" outperforming it. 

According to the official logline, the prequel series, set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, follows two Harkonnen sisters who fight against forces that threaten the future of humanity and found a legendary sect known as the Bene Gesserit. "Dune: Prophecy" will be produced by Allison Schapker, who serves as showrunner and executive producer. 

Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May and Mark Strong star in Dune: Prophecy, alongside Sarah-Sophie Boussunina, Josh Huston, Chloe Li, Jade Anukah, Faoilian Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Bruen-Franklin, Camilla Biput, Jihye, Tabu, Charisra Chandran, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning and Yerin Ha. 

New episodes of the six-episode season stream Sundays at 9 PM ET/PT on HBO and Max.
