The second season will air on December 26, while the third will air in 2025. A video, which can be viewed below, was used to announce the premiere date and the conclusion of the season.
Additionally, series creator, director, and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk wrote a letter to fans that included the following: "I am thrilled to see the seed that was planted in creating a new Squid Game grow and bear fruit through the end of this story."

Season 2's official description reads:
“Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 is still adamant about locating the players and putting an end to the cruel sport. The first season of "Squid Game" was the most watched television season ever on Netflix. Six Emmys were awarded to the show, which received 14 nominations. These include Hwang's win for best drama series director, Lee's win for best drama series actor, and Lee You-mi's win for best guest actress in a drama.
