Mark Seiler, Former President of RKO Pictures and Hemdale Films, Dies at 75

 Mark Edwin Seiler, the previous leader of RKO Pictures and Hemdale Movies and Chief of Capella Movies, passed on July 7 of Parkinson's illness. He was 75.


While Seiler was in charge of RKO, the organization delivered prominent movies including "Bounty" (1985) featuring Meryl Streep, "Half Moon Road" (1986) with Sigourney Weaver and Michael Caine and "Grounds Man" (1987), where he met his long-term life partner Morgan Fairchild.


Another of his proudest accomplishments was delivering the conflict film "Cheeseburger Slope" (1987) close by his accomplice Jerry Offsay. Together, Seiler and Offsay shaped the cast of the film, giving Wear Cheadle, Dylan McDermott, Courtney B. Vance and Steven Weber a portion of their most memorable jobs. Then, while Seiler was CEO of Capella Films, he contributed to the financing and production of "The Shadow," starring Alec Baldwin, and "Nobody's Fool," for which Paul Newman received an Oscar nomination for best actor.


Seiler was born on May 2, 1948, in Glen Cove, New York. He grew up on Long Island and earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Tulane University.


Seiler valued being a tutor in the business, persuading his possible accomplice Offsay to leave his law office and join RKO. " Offsay said in a statement, "He gave me that shot to go from law to creative on faith." I hope he will always be aware of my gratitude for changing my life.


Additionally, Seiler served as a mentor to Marc Platt, who later produced "Wicked" on Broadway and in the upcoming film adaptation; Legitimately Blonde," "Fantasy world" and that's just the beginning. " He was such an effect on me in my initial days in Hollywood — he saw things in me that I don't know I found in myself," Platt said in an explanation. " I was instilled with confidence and a strong sense of self by him, and he guided me with his wisdom. I will never forget how much I appreciated his friendship and guidance during those early years.


In the last part of the '90s, Seiler turned into an early embracer of the computerized world by establishing Geocodex, which assisted with presenting against robbery innovation and geo-encryption into the film business.


Fairchild, Carolyn Seiler Hehir, and her husband Greg Hehir survive Seiler; furthermore, kin Amy Seiler and Scott Seiler.
