Lionsgate Confirms ‘John Wick 5’ in Early Development

Lionsgate’s film bunch seat Joe Drake prodded improvement of a fifth film in the studio's John Wick establishment Thursday during a Q4 profit call that has fans buzzing.

"What is true is that, as you probably are aware, Ballet performer is the first side project that emerges one year from now. He stated, "We're working on three more, including five, including the upcoming television series The Continental." We're working out the world and when that five film comes, it will be natural — will be naturally outgrown the way in which we're beginning to recount those accounts. In any case, you can depend on a standard rhythm of John Wick."

During a fan-favorite Q4 earnings call on Thursday, Lionsgate's motion picture group chair Joe Drake teased the development of a fifth film in the John Wick franchise.

The fact that, as you are aware, Ballerina will be the first spinoff released next year is now established. He stated, "We're working on three more, including five, including the upcoming television series The Continental." We're working out the world and when that five film comes, it will be natural — will be naturally outgrown the way in which we're beginning to recount those accounts. Yet, you can depend on a customary rhythm of John Wick."

The Walk 24 arrival of the Chad Stahelski-coordinated John Wick: Chapter 4, starring Keanu Reeves, was another huge success for the assassin franchise, earning more than $363 million worldwide. Reps from the studio and the director himself agreed that the possibility of a fifth film was on the table after its immediate success.

It's very flattering for them to return and say, "We want more," even though it's not just a money grab. Following the release of Chapter 4, Stahelski stated in an episode of The Hollywood Reporter's Behind the Screen podcast series, "It's legitimately the audience wants more." I think that we all require that brief period of time to think, "Whew." Let's see what happens next.' We are open to it if, in a few months, Keanu and I go to a whiskey bar in Japan and say, "Yep, we’ll never do another one of those," and then suddenly say, "Yeah, but I got an idea." (The following contains fourth-film spoilers.)

In Section 4 — with a cast including Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Bill Skarsgard and Donnie Yen — Wick reveals a way to overcoming the High Table, an excursion that gets under way the occasions of the film and its climatic double at Paris' Sacré Coeur.

As the movie came to a close, McShane's Winston and Fishburne's Bowery King stood at Wick's grave. What truly occurred? We won't know for sure until we wait.
