Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo, the imaginative personalities behind "Bridesmaids" and "Spike and Star Go to Vista Del Mar," are reteaming on a film about Cinderella's underhanded stepsisters.
Set at Disney, Wiig and Mumolo will compose the screenplay for the melodic parody that reconsiders the exemplary fantasy from the viewpoint of the two kin who didn't get their cheerfully ever after.
Wiig and Mumolo aren't relied upon to act in the film, which is as yet in the beginning phases of improvement. Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum are delivering the film by means of Gloria Sanchez Productions.
The two have been companions for quite a long time, first gathering at the L.A. comedy bunch The Groundlings in the mid 2000s. In 2011, they stated "Bridesmaids," perhaps the best R-evaluated comedies in many years. The film — featuring Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Melissa McCarthy — acquired almost $300 million in the cinematic world and scored an Oscar designation for unique screenplay.
After 10 years, Wiig and Mumolo rejoined on the current year's VOD hit "Spike and Star Goes to Vista Del Mar," a wacky parody about deep rooted dearest companions who leave their unassuming community interestingly to relax in Florida.
In the years between, Wiig featured in outside the box movies, for example, "The Skeleton Twins" and "The Diary of a Teenage Girl," just as the hero spin-off "Miracle Woman 1984." Mumolo, whose next film job will be in the parody "Queenpins" with Kristen Bell, showed up in "This Is 40," "The Boss" and "Terrible Moms."
Disney has given the component film treatment to a few of its exemplary lowlifess, including the Angelina Jolie-drove "Baneful" and its spin-off "Special lady of Evil." Up next, "Cruella," a backstory focusing on Emma Stone as the infamous "101 Dalmatians" baddie, is coming to theaters on May 28. Around the same time, it will make a big appearance on Disney Plus for a $30 rental expense.
