The rumors about the runtime for Season 5 of *Stranger Things* have been greatly exaggerated.
Ross Duffer, who co-created the Netflix hit with his brother Matt Duffer, shared the length of the first four episodes of the final season on his Instagram account on Monday.
The Season 5 premiere, *The Crawl*, will last one hour and 8 minutes; Episode 2, with an undisclosed title, will be 54 minutes; Episode 3, *The Turnbow Trap*, will run one hour and 6 minutes; and Episode 4, *Sorcerer*, will be one hour and 23 minutes.
This contradicts viral social media claims that every episode would be at least 90 minutes long, as well as a previous report from Puck News that the episodes would range from 90 minutes to two hours.
Since the show's debut in 2016, *Stranger Things* has mostly aired episodes at or under an hour, but Season 4 saw significant expansion, with all but one episode lasting over 70 minutes.
The final three episodes of Season 4 were all feature-length, with the finale clocking in at two hours and 22 minutes.
Netflix is splitting Season 5 into three separate releases: The first four episodes will debut on November 26, over the Thanksgiving holiday, with *Sorcerer* serving as a mid-season finale.
The next three episodes will premiere on Christmas, and the final episode, *The Rightside Up*, will debut on New Year's Eve. Alongside the Duffer Brothers, the episodes will be directed by executive producer Shawn Levy and filmmaker Frank Darabont (*The Shawshank Redemption*). All the main actors are coming back for the last season, like Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke.
