F1’ Makes $10 Million in Previews, ‘M3GAN 2.0’ Has $1.5 Million

"Both are open this weekend thanks to F1 and M3GAN 2.0.

F1 was worth US$10 million on Thursday, including US$7.2 million, while M3GAN made US$2.0 on Thursday.

The Apple 'F1 is on the right track to get Brad Pitt as an aging Formula-1 racing driver to be number one, but the weekend forecasts are different. Some estimates have led to racing films starting at around US$50-60 million, while some forecasts are softer at US$35-40 million. The original drama for adults that was not beaten at the box office as IP-controlled family films took over, taking into account various estimates

F1 has a $200 million North production budget, which is a big swing for a regular studio, but not so much for Apple, a civilized tech giant. However, the company has yet to make profitable films, as big-budget films like Killers of the Flower Moon and Napoleon, were well received by critics, but they didn't turn them black. Despite their financial struggles, these films are run by Auteur, and testify to Apple's commitment to large canvas and streaming service Apple TV+.

M3GAN 2.0, a continuation of the virus horror hit from 2022, is expected to open at USD 20 million. This is lower than the original opening weekend of $30 million, but only at USD 25 million, the sequel should be another lucrative hit. Universal and Blumhouse horror compete against "How to Train Your Dragon" which is entitled to second place at the box office.
