Jason Momoa Sets His Return as Duncan Idaho in ‘Dune 3’: ‘I’m Making a Comeback’

Actor Jason Momoa, as director Dennis Villeneuve, made his future known in the sci-fi franchise. 

In an interview today Monday, Momoa confirmed that by 2024 he will repeat his role as Duncan Idaho in the continuation of Villeneuvers by S-Part Two. When moderator Craig Melvin was asked, Momoa replied. Throne, do you know what I mean? If you haven't read the book, it's not my fault, right? " 

"Yes, that's... I'm coming back," he continued. I'm driving a comeback! You heard it first, here with you, baby. 

2021: Part 1, Momoas Duncan, Master of Hausatreid's swords and influential leader of Paul Atreid of Timothée et Chalamett's Paul and mother Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) are willing to sacrifice herself, giving Paul and his mother Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), enough time to escape a fatal ambush. Duncan dies similarly in the original "Dune" of author Frank Herbert. However, the character comes to life in Herbert's third dune book, Dune Messiah, as a clone-like replica of the original self. The Messiah took place 12 years after Dunes: Part 2, studying the results of Paul's bloody rise to ultimate power. Duncan is the only character in all six original books by Herbert. 

Villeneuve "Dune 3" is often referred to as "Dune Messiah" by fans, and, like his two predecessors, will likely be a faithful adaptation of most of his source material. Therefore, his confirmation of his return from Momoa is not a particularly shocking revelation. However, it is worth noting that Momoa decided to announce his return very quickly. It is not expected that the Dune 3 will be filmed later this year. The fate of his character, Gurney Halleck, is especially at amvig at the end of the first film, but it is a reminder that "Dune: Part 2" will be added to his IMDB page shortly after the release of "Dune: Part 1". 

Villeneuve's Dune film continues to inspire a measure of actors' excitement, which is rarely seen today in the world of expensive Hollywood franchises. However, according to their respective publications, it is not difficult to understand why both "Dune: Part 1" and "Dune: Part 2" received considerable praise, financial success and recognition of awards. Dune 3 is expected to arrive at cinemas in 2026.
