The official summary is as follows: "In the 1960s and 1970s, Hawaii climbed the impressive and charismatic mob bosses to build the island's most powerful criminal empire, carrying out a brutal war with the syndicates competing with mainland corporations, and fighting their ancestors, illuminating a ruthless quest for absolute existence for most beings.
Scorsese (for his Sickerian production), Johnson (for his $7 production), DiCaprio (for his Appian Way production), and Blunt (for her Redberry production) produce alongside Bilton (for his true story). Dany Garcia, founders of Seven Bucks Productions, Rick Yorn and Chris Donnelly of LBI Entertainment Serve, and Lisa Cheeky of Sikelia Productions. David Greenbaum, Disney's live-action president and 20th century studio president, and Steve Asbel, president of Studio 20th century studio president, will watch the studio.
The film is based on upcoming books, also made by Bilton and Johnson.
Earlier this year, Disney and Sevendol signed their first look deal. As part of the arrangement, Garcia and Johnson will develop films for theaters and streaming. These projects include Monster Jam, a live-action feature introduced last year at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, and was eventually published by Walt Disney Studios. Johnson has recently performed at the Moana 2's Billion-Dollar Foundation, portraying Halbod Maui in the live-action remake of next year's first film.
