‘Smile 2’ Makes $2.5 Million in Previews Box Office

Flip around those film industry glares, since "Grin 2," the continuation of Principal's unexpected frightfulness hit, is opening this end of the week.

Yet again the movie, composed and coordinated by Parker Finn, has made $2.5 million in Thursday sees such a long ways in the cinema world. In contrast, previews for the original 2022 film generated $2 million over the first weekend of October.

In its first weekend, "Smile 2," which continues the ghastly horror with a grin on its face, is anticipated to earn between $20 million and $25 million, with some projections even higher. However, sources close to Paramount are more pessimistic and envision an opening in the high teens. The first "Grin" film, which was initially made for a streaming delivery, had a $22.6 million opening in 2022. By the end of its run, it had earned $105 million domestically and $217 million worldwide as a sleeper hit.

“Smile 2” stands to be yet another low-cost horror hit for Paramount with a $28 million budget. The sequel intensifies the demonic force that causes victims to go insane and kill themselves after the first film introduced it. Skye Riley, a world-renowned pop star who becomes the latest victim of the evil demon, is played by Naomi Scott. As she leaves on a rebound world visit, Skye gradually flips out and starts seeing fantasies in her droves of revering fans. Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, Kyle Gallner, Dylan Gelula, Raul Castillo, Peter Jacobsen, Ray Nicholson, and others are also in the cast.

Neon and Sean Baker's buzzy "Anora," about a stripper who falls in love with the son of a Russian oligarch, opens this weekend as well. The movie has made a lot of noise before the Oscars, and it opens this weekend in limited theaters before going wide.
