Krypto the Superdog Will Appear in James Gunn’s ‘Superman’: He’s a ‘Not-So-Good-Good-Boy’

The year after, Superman's canine best friend will appear alongside him on screen.

Krypto the Superdog will show up in James Gunn's impending "Superman," the chief affirmed via web-based entertainment Tuesday. He made the declaration to pay tribute to October being Embrace a Safe house Canine month.

"Krypto shows up on separates Superman this late spring," Gunn composed. " Our dog Ozu, whom we adopted shortly after I began writing Superman, served as Krypto's source of inspiration. Ozu was problematic to say the least because he came from a backyard where he lived in a hoarding situation with 60 other dogs and had never met a human. He entered right away, destroyed our furniture, shoes, and home, even eating my laptop. Before he would even let us touch him, it took quite some time. I can still recall thinking to myself, "Gosh, how difficult would life be if Ozu had superpowers?" As Ozu was transforming my life, Krypto entered the script and altered the plot. What better time than #AdoptAShelterDog month to introduce the not-so-good-boy Krypto? Btw, Ozu today, is, on a regular basis, a generally excellent kid."

The director of "I, Robot" says that Elon Musk stole his ideas for a new Tesla robot, van, and other things: Hey Elon, could you please return my designs?'

Krypto, a dog with superpowers from Krypton, Superman's home planet, has appeared in numerous animated DC films but never in a live-action one. He'll make his presentation with David Corenswet's Man of Steel in Gunn's film the following summer prior to joining Milly Alcock's Kara Zor-El in "Supergirl: Lady of Tomorrow" from chief Craig Gillespie, set to make a big appearance June 2026.

Since showing up in a 1955 DC Comic books issue of "Superboy," Krypto has consistently showed up as a white canine with gold restraint and red cape that matches Superman. Krypto has super strength, intelligence, and senses, just like the famous Kryptonian hero. In the 2022 film "DC League of Super-Pets," Dwayne Johnson played the dog alongside Kevin Hart as Ace, the cape-wearing canine of Batman.
