Stranger Things’ Star Joseph Quinn Set for ‘Gladiator’ Sequel

 Joseph Quinn, star of "Stranger Things," is in talks to appear in the sequel to "Gladiator."

The role of Roman Emperor Caracalla will be played by the actor in the Ridley Scott film. The Central task is set to be a development to the film that followed Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russell Crowe), a previous general who is constrained into being a typical combatant subject to Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), a patricidal self-designated Sovereign of Rome.

Quinn would be joining Paul Mescal, the film's director. Connie Nielson is set to return as Lucilla, the sister of Commodus. As recently declared, Denzel Washington and Barry Keoghan are additionally set for the film.

The story of the sequel will focus on Lucius (Mescal), the nephew of Phoenix's Commodus and the son of Lucilla, played by Nielsen. It is anticipated that Djimon Hounsou will reprise his role as Juba, a fellow gladiator and former Maximus ally.

The script is being written by David Scarpa, who collaborated with Scott on All the Money in the World and the upcoming Napoleon film. Scott will also produce alongside Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher through Red Wagon Entertainment, along with Michael Pruss via Scott Free.

Universal and Gladiator collaborated on the production, and now that the project has been packaged, that studio has the option to co-produce the sequel. Gladiator made $460 million at the box office when it came out, got eleven Oscar nominations, and won five awards, including best picture and best actor for Crowe.
