Chris Pine to Play Ruler of Magical Kingdom in Walt Disney Animation’s ‘Wish’

Chris Pine to Play Leader of Supernatural Realm in Walt Disney Activity's 'Wish'
Chris Pine has been projected in "Wish," Walt Disney's impending vivified melodic. Ariana DeBose, who won an Oscar, and Alan Tudyk round out the cast.

News that the "Star Journey" star will add his dulcet tones to the family film came at CinemaCon. Recent roles for Pine include "Don't Worry Darling" and "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Hoodlums." He has appeared in Wonder Woman, Jack Ryan, Into the Woods, and Hell or High Water.

Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn directed the film "Wish," which was written by Jennifer Lee. The film is about an intriguing, if not metaphysical, question: How did the wishing star, which so many Disney characters want for, come into the universe? The story takes place in the magical kingdom of Rosas, where Asha is first shown to be an optimist with a sharp wit and a deep concern for her community. A tiny ball of energy known as Star responds to Asha's plea when she turns to the sky in a time of need and makes a wish in a time of need. They work together to save Asha's community.

Pine provides Rosas's ruler with a voice. As the most remarkable individual in the realm, Lord Magnifico should have been played by somebody who could give all the appeal, cunning and magnetism to this generous person, and Chris is wonderfully bringing all of that to say the very least," Lee said.

"Wish" has unique tunes by Grammy-designated artist lyricist Julia Michaels and Grammy-winning maker/musician/performer Benjamin Rice, in addition to score by arranger Dave Metzger. " The movie "Wish" only opens on November 22.

John Carrabino Management, CAA, and SBV Talent Agency represent Pine.
